putt putt

My name is Leslie and I moved to Los Angeles in 2002 from upstate NY. It took me four days to get here in my red Hyundai Elantra, and I have been mostly happy to be here since.

I came here only knowing two people and enough money to get me by for one month. All I ever wanted was to work on a film set, but somehow most of the work I did when I first arrived was in post-production as an assistant.

In 2005, I opened my own business called Every Problem Solved where I literally do just that, solve other people’s problems so they don’t have to. It’s too long to get into the ins and outs of my day and who I work with, but essentially I have worked with everyone from CEO’s of multi-million dollar corporations to producers of adult content (porn).  I have helped people purchase homes, purchase condoms, and purchase cars. I have taught people how to manage their offices, organize their closets and found a great chimpanzee to perform at a Bar Mitzvah (all true).

Opening my business was my way to pursue my ultimate goal and why I moved here in the first place, to produce feature films.  I now co-own a production company with my business partner, and we have several projects in development (film, tv and a few web series).  We hope to start shooting our first feature in June of ’09.

This blog is a detailed account of my experiences in Los Angeles, just simply trying to do what I love each and every day with some really talented people.  Occasionally I am triumphant, a lot of the time I fall flat on my face.  If I have learned anything while living here, it’s there is never just one way to do something.  I am pretty much willing to try it all until I accomplish what it is I set out to do, and you get to read about all of my experiences here.

Thanks for reading!

I would also like to add that Leslie (and Jackson) are amazing producers. They’re honest, creative, enthusiastic and they work crazy hard. You might expect this from all producers in Hollywood but, sadly, that’s not the case. I adore them both.
